時は江戸。絵師である荒春は、師である歌麿の贋作で金儲けをした事で歌麿から破門される。ある日、荒春は川辺で自分が捨てた贋作を集める口の利けない夜鷹、お梅と出会う。荒春はお梅を縛り、それをモデルに絵を描くとその絵は瞬く間に江戸中の評判になり、その評判は江戸の将軍のもとまで届く事に…。
