愛子の仕事は家政婦。今日は新たな仕事の依頼が来たのだ。今回の依頼者は、思春期の二人の息子をもつ伊藤貞夫。彼は妻に先立たれて三年がたつ。男三人の暮らしでは亡き美代子の位牌も掃除することなく、ひどく汚れていた。このままではいかんと、貞夫は家政婦を雇うことにしたのだ。
