家族揃って、夕食を楽しんだところまでは薄ぼんやりと覚えている。うまい酒を勧められて、そして私も息子の妻に勧め返した辺りから、どうも記憶が曖昧だ。おそらくは酔いつぶれて寝てしまったということかな。ぼんやりしたまま身体を起こそうと手に力を込めると、何か、柔らかな感触を手のひらに感じる。目の前には、浴衣を乱した息子の妻の姿。それにしてはあまりにも不自然な着崩し方……それに体勢も、その……まるで……――。
