バブル崩壊以来、日本は未曾有の不況に見舞われている。そして、この会社「エムエム保険」にも不況の波が押し寄せ、それを回避するためにリストラを行うことになった。男子社員は、今リストラにあえば、「子供の教育費、ローンなどの返済が出来なくなる」と、女子社員に従順な態度で仕事をこなしていく。顔、体をハイヒールで容赦なく蹴られても、刃向うでもなく耐えていたが…。
