舞子はTV局の新人アナ。仕事は視聴率の低い深夜番組でマニアを訪ねて回るというキワモノの内容だった。舞子の憧れである先輩アナウンサー貴子は、同僚の真美とプロデューサーの若林の不倫と、彼が真美をアンカーウーマンに抜擢するという話を聞き、週刊誌にネタを売られたくなかったら番組を譲るよう真美に迫った。屋上で言い争いになり、真美が誤って転落死する。
